The story of Jesus begins with these words: “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
We are committed to recapturing this good news of great joy not only in our lives but in our witness to the world. It is the centerpiece of our ministry.
In a day when many see Christian faith primarily as a form of disapproval, we champion a joyful vision of life, from our enjoyment of God, to delight in our relationships, to pleasure in our endeavors, to the adventurous joy of being an agent of God’s Kingdom in the world.
In a day when many see Christian faith as irrelevant, we see joy (always a connection with a joyful God) fulfilling our deepest longings and highest aspirations, and touching every facet of our lives.
In a day when many see Christian faith as a set of obscure doctrines and rigid rules, we choose to focus on the God whose radiant joy eclipses all else, whose beauty steals our breath, and whose goodness beckons us to a life-changing, life-enriching relationship that will never end.
All of this is possible, we believe, because of this Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Because of who he is and what he purposes for us, we see following Christ as a path and portal to flourishing in life. We hope to persuade many others to join us!
Although our staff are free to use other discipleship materials, we encourage students to read and interact with these books on joy by Rick Howe, made available to CCSI for the cost of printing and delivery alone.
