OUR MISSION
The mission of CCSI is to:
“establish, maintain and support Christian Study Centers adjacent to universities in the United States and abroad for the purpose of engaging the university community in serious thinking and discussion of the Christian world view and all of its implications for life and thought.”
Although every CCSI Study Center is purposefully nuanced to its local context, all CCSI Centers seek to be a credible and winsome presence and voice for Christ in the contemporary academy through Christian scholarship and Christian community.
OUR VISION
According to the U.S. Census Bureau there are 20 million college and university students in the United States today, attending 4,200 institutions of higher education. Of these, some 300,000 students are enrolled in Christian liberal arts colleges affiliated with the Council for Christian Colleges and Schools, representing approximately 1.5% of total college and university enrollment.
While we affirm the important role of traditional Christian liberal arts schools, CCSI’s concern is for the vast majority who are at secular institutions. We envision many students, faculty and staff at these schools engaging Christian scholarship and community in transformational ways, with expanding and enduring influence around the world.
